Has been a little while since we have updated photos of this very special young colt. He is now just over 18 months and going through the lanky stage. Going to be very tall and solid boy and has a sweet calm nature.
He is has some pretty special bloodlines as well as rare color genetics being homozygous silver, gold champagne roan (ZZ, CHn, RNn ee, aa) & 7 panel neg. Has been interesting seeing his colour change with time. He will be a 100% silver producer, plus roan and champagne and has no bay gene which is pretty cool
Still haven't decided 100% if we will sell or retain him as a future stallion at our stud yet. Huge decision which we are in no rush to make. Our plans this year will be taking him out to a few clinics and shows.
He is currently running with our pregnant mare herd as it gives the young men a beautiful start in life around social manners. Nothing like a herd of 8 pregnant mares to teach you all about that

I'm just over the moon with the unique special quality of the foals Silver Big Stretch is producing. It looks like she is black based with silver & I suspect champagne by her eye colour however, we will have to test. Lantra is being the best mum as always

]]><![CDATA[November 13th, 2023]]>Mon, 13 Nov 2023 00:22:51 GMThttps://www.ricindaranch.com/ricinda-ruminations/november-13th-2023A few of you might have been wondering after such an amazingly successful first half of 2023 out competing in Working Equitation and Ranch Versatility with my very special stallion Silver Big Stretch (Zeus) why things are been so quiet more recently. We also very sadly weren't able to make it to Cow Girls Gathering which was such a shame as we were so looking forward to seeing so many of you.

Unfortunately life through me some very curved balls which resulted in me having to step out of the saddle for awhile, much to both mine and Zeus's disappointment. Its been tough seeing him standing eagerly at the gate each day hoping I would take him for a ride yet me personally having no capacity to do so.

Thankfully for me things will be back on track soon and both Zues and I are very excited to getting back out and about soon. I know I have been very blessed to have had some special horses in my life however this special boy is certainly a once in a lifetime one for me. Even though he is now a mature breeding stallion his most favourite place in the world is hanging out with me. He doesn't mind if its just chilling out at the stables getting a brush, strolling down the rode on a quiet trail ride or out & about competing or a clinics. As long as he is by my side he is happy. How do I know you might ask? He is my heart horse and Im his heart human. I feel it in every moment Im with him.

You only need to see us together to get a glimpse of the bond between us. Those of you who have been blessed enough to have your soul horse will know exactly what I mean as its hard to find the right words to describe the connection.

Mum & bub doing great. At first I didn't think she was silver but this morning thinking she might be. She doesn't have the white eye lashes & snowy tail that u so often see. Will test to be sure.
